Our Mission

Bridging the Local STEM Gap

Future Computational Biologists is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the next generation of computational biologists by making computational biology accessible and engaging through workshops and outreach.

Over 50% of parents in East Brunswick agree that there is a lack of opportunities for their children to explore the intersection of technology and the life sciences.

FCB’s mission is to bridge that gap through workshops and outreach that empower students across all ages. We have worked with local schools to bring our workshops and tech demonstrations in front of many students.

Recently, we have launched our summer newsletter, increasing our impact beyond just one-time activities.

Meet Our Founder

Sohum Bhardwaj is a Senior at East Brunswick High School. He is interested in applying computer science to study biology and robotics. Sohum is President of Programming on Astraea Robotics and he is President of the EBHS Code Club. Through these positions, he shares his love of technology and teaching. He also does research in the mechanical ecology lab at Rutgers-Camden, and has won 2nd place in state biology competitions. When he is not building or studying, Sohum enjoys playing pickleball, making pizzas, and drawing.
